Assets, selected
March 29, 2006
fluxiom goes a long a way to provide users with user interface elements they know and love from their desktop applications. Here’s an example from the asset viewer, showing how to use click and drag rubberband selections (you need QuickTime to view the movie):
The asset viewer also recognizes shift-click to select a range of assets and ctrl-click to select multiple individual assets.
And yes, it supports automatic scrolling when you’re extending the rubberband selection near to and beyond the edge of the assets panel.

Wow! Talk about blurring the lines between desktop and web! So does this nifty feature work across all major browsers? How difficult was it to make that happen?

Does this support the insanely useful ability to rubber-band select multiple items and then remove one or two with a shift or control click? It sounds like it does.
For Mac users, the shift-click is single-item selection. You could do a platform check in javascript and adjust the event handling. Probably not worth the effort, though.

@justin d-z: Yes, you can do rubberband selections and then remove single items with ctrl-click (pc) or command-click (mac).
shift-click (mac/pc) selects a range of assets as th0fu mentioned in his post.

By the way. fluxiom will support raw formats?

fluxiom is easily the most amazing looking web application ever! Forget 2.0, this looks so far ahead it’s touching on the 3.0.
I’m really looking forward to it going live, even though I doubt I have any real use for it.

@Adi Agafitei: Yes, fluxiom fully supports raw photo formats.
