The API allows programmers to access/read/write fluxiom data from third-party systems like the free fluxiom download widget.

To activate/deactivate the API for your fluxiom account go to the “Account” tab and select “API”. Note: Only the account owner can switch on the API.

Agree to the API terms and click the “Activate API for this account”. Done.

How to change your credit card information

You can change the credit card information used by going to the “Account” tab and selecting “Credit card”. Note: Only the account owner can change the credit card information.

Enter the new card details and click on “Change to this credit card” and you’ll be all set.

If you need to cancel your account, login to your fluxiom account click on the “account” tab and select “settings”.

Note: Only the account holder can cancel the account. The fluxiom account holder is the person who originally set up your fluxiom account.

The fluxiom account holder is the person who originally set up your fluxiom account. The account holder is the only person that can access the “Account” page, upgrade, downgrade, change billing information, access invoices, and cancel the account.

You can change the account holder by selecting the “Account” tab and clicking on “Account holder”.

fluxiom now offers built-in support for international filenames. Whether it’s japanese Kanji, simplified Chinese or any alphabet, fluxiom will display filenames correctly in your browser and they also persist after you download or share those assets.

Note: Unfortunately, when downloading or sharing multiple files in a ZIP package that contains files with special characters in the filename, Windows will discard the original filenames. For this reason fluxiom includes a list of the original filenames in every ZIP package you download.

You can add a .zip archive like any other file to fluxiom. If you want to extract a .zip archive be sure to click the “extract files from .zip archive” checkbox.

To view versions or add versions to an asset select the asset and click “edit”. The edit window shows two tabs: properties and versions. In the versions tab you can preview, download or delete older versions, plus restore any old version.

fluxiom goes a long a way to provide users with user interface elements they know and love from their desktop applications. Here’s an example from the asset viewer, showing how to use click and drag rubberband selections (you need QuickTime to view the movie):

The asset viewer also recognizes shift-click to select a range of assets and ctrl-click to select multiple individual assets.

And yes, it supports automatic scrolling when you’re extending the rubberband selection near to and beyond the edge of the assets panel.
